I almost forgot, before I left for California my family and I went to the zoo to see all the baby animals. I wanted to go for awhile and no one would go with me, so I decided we would go for my birthday :) It was so fun!

I attended the Society of Women Engineer's(SWE) National Conference Career Fair in Long Beach in hopes of finding a job. I drove down the day before my birthday so I could go to Disneyland for FREE! My AWESOME Aunt Carol took the day off work to celebrate and play with me at Disneyland!!

Then the conference was the next 2 days. I had 3 interviews at the Career Fair which isn't too bad, but I wanted more. I met up with some students from the University of Utah's SWE Chapter and went to dinner with them after the Career Fair.

Then I spent one day with my aunt and uncle. We went to Costa Mesa to get the best tacos and orange drink(they take me EVERY time I visit!) and then we stopped at Newport Beach on our way back home. It was a beautiful day, then when we got to the beach it was super foggy! I have never seen the ocean like that before, it was so cool! The following pics were NOT taken in black and white, or edited in any way...

Good trip, can't wait to go back!

Working Woman...again

I started my new job yesterday at Hill Air Force Base. I do NOT enjoy the commute!! I have to be there at 7am, and I am NOT a morning person. Other than that, so far so good :) I am in orientation until next Wednesday, then start my actual position Thursday, January 28.

I got some pics posted before I started working which I'm happy about, although my goal was to get them all posted. I plan to get the rest posted this weekend, then I will be caught up!! YAY!! Now the trick will be to stay caught up ;)

St. George

My father recently changed territories for work and gets to go to St. George now, well it changed in August 2009, so the end of August I went with him for 3 days. I had lost my job a couple weeks before and thought I would hop in the car and go for a ride and relax out by the pool while my dad was working. It was nice, hot and relaxing :) Then my mom had a break from school for UEA the beginning of October 2009 and thought she would take my grandma down to Tuacahn and the Shakespeare Festival for some plays. I decided to hop in the car again and join them after I had a couple of job interviews. My dad planned to go down for work at the same time too. We stayed at my aunt and uncle's house which is close to Tuacahn which was nice since the shows we saw were there. We saw Footloose and Aida at Tuacahn.

Then we spent one day in Cedar City to see The Complete Works of William Shakespeare and The Women in Black at the Shakespeare Festival. In between plays we drove up to Cedar Breaks to take in the beautiful scenery.

We also went hiking and to the Dinosaur Tracks Museum during the day since the shows were at night. While we were on our hike, we ran into a couple turtles wondering around on the trail. My mom kept saying she wanted to see a turtle and at the end we saw 2!!

My mom won a trip for 4 to San Diego on the radio and my family chose to use the trip for the week of July 4th, 2009. It included 3 days/2 nights at a hotel, 4 passes to the Contemporary Art Museum and 4 passes to Sea World. When my littlest sister, KD, was younger and my family went to Sea World, she wanted to swim with the dolphins SOOOO bad but my dad told her no! So ever since then she would tell my dad he "owed" her. So this time she finally got to swim with the dolphins, and Alyssa and me too!!

Our last day in San Diego we also went to tour the U.S.S. Midway, a Naval Air Craft Carrier.

Towards the end of our trip, we headed to Hollywood to see Michael Jackson's star on the Walk of Fame. It was about a week after he had past away.

There was so much stuff from fans that flooded the sidewalk they had to block it off to create room for people to walk.

The last day of our trip was the 4th of July, we went to watch fireworks at the Newport Beach Country Club where my aunt's mother and aunt live. Such a wonderful, fun and much needed vacation!

New Year Resolution, BLOG!

So....my New Year Resolution is to keep my blog updated! I have been out of a job for just over 5 months and updating my blog was on my list of things to do since I had all the time in the world, on top of looking for a job. Obviously I didn't take advantage of all my time off, or did I? While looking for a job I got to travel to Long Beach, CA, Washington, D.C. and Virginia Beach, VA, Philadelphia/New Jersey, and St. George a couple times. Most of my traveling was for job interviews, except St. George. After all these interviews, I luckily received a job offer! I start my new job Jan. 19th at Hill Air Force Base! So my new goal is to get pics uploaded from all my travels and get caught up on my blog before then! I can do it! I have one week! So check back soon for pics!!

Once again I have slacked off big time and not posted for months! SORRY! It has been a wild few months; first I was stuck in a job I hated working my butt off, I finally got a vacation which was the BEST week of my life! Then, I was laid off my job and attended a few weddings with a few more weddings coming soon. One of my goals since I was laid off is to update my blog with pics from my vacation and the weddings and more. So this is a start, but look for pics to come soon!!

Wow, it is already June! I can't believe it and I haven't posted anything for months, so sorry! Well, not really I guess since I am so boring, I don't have anything fun to share. I don't get to go enjoy the outdoors, or go on vacations, or even just little weekend getaways which really upsets me, I love to do those things. Maybe I will get to do that again one day....I'm just stuck in a job I hate that doesn't give me any time to do what I enjoy, it's always WORK, WORK, WORK!

Wait, I did get to go to Wicked when it was in town! That was super fun! I went with my sister Alyssa, my BFF Amanda and Amanda's parents. I'm also planning on going to Lagoon next weekend, weather permitting.

Oh my goodness, this dog is so funny! Alyssa was out of town for 2 weeks at a work training leaving Roman home with me. One night he was not ready for bed when it was bed time, so he jumped off my bed and started playing with the door stop. I was so mad because I was so exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep, but at the same time I thought it was the funniest thing! He is such a smart dog. I told Alyssa about it and she wanted to see him do it but he never did it again until the other day so I had to get it on video to share because it just cracks me up, so here it is!!

I was originally suppose to close on my house Friday, Jan 9...that was 4 days ago! Now I have to wait 2-3 more days to close, then I can move in this weekend! I am just so excited I can't stand it!! Although I want to move in ASAP, work has been crazy busy and it was actually better I didn't move in this last weekend because I had so much work to do. We got a puppy! His name is Roman. He is so fun and loves to play and cuddle! He will be playing and in the middle of running to a toy he poops out and just lays down wherever he is.

I finally found a townhouse! I'm officially under contract and should be closing on Jan. 9! I'm so excited, I've been looking for a long time, well it seems like a long time anyway. I will get more pics up after I move in. I also hope to have an open house or something so you can come check it out! So watch for more details to come!

I got better with blogging for a bit, but then started slacking again. I've been busy moving back home to my parents and looking for a townhouse to purchase. In the last week I had put 3 offers in on places and all fell through :( so I am still looking. I have been busy at work as well trying to finish up some projects to start on new projects. Oh my freaking gosh! Thursday night the University of Utah played Oregon State. To be quite honest, I didn't know anything about Oregon State's football team, so I thought we would kick some ass. Boy was I wrong! OS scores first with a field goal, ok we can get that back. Then the U ties it with field goal. Hmm, come on Utes. Oh then our quarterback throws an interception that gets returned for a touch down, IDIOT! I couldn't believe it! At half time the U was winning 20-15, good thing OS kicker missed a point after and two tries for 2 point conversions. Then in the beginning of the third quarter OS came back and scored a touch down, missing the point after again so OS was winning 21-20. Crap, come on Utes! With just less than 2:30 mins left of the game, OS scores another touch down, WTF! Disappointment across the stadium, people started filing out. Then with 1:48 left of the game my roommate Jessica turns to me asking if I was ready to go, but I just sat there like we can't leave yet telling her we will come back and she asks if I had been watching the same game. So we stay, and with 1:29 left of the game, the U scores a touch down! Then we try for a 2 point conversion, pass interference, try again and we get it!!! Tied at 28!! Crowd screaming and jumping for joy!! Jessica turns to me and says, "Nice call." Wow, is this really happening?! The U kicks off, thinking they would kick an onside kick, but no, OS gets it and starts to run, oh no. Long story short, the U gets it back, makes some awesome, and well needed, catches to get within field goal range, then with 2 seconds, yes seconds, left we kick a field goal and win 31-28, crowd rushes the field. What a game!! The End

R.I.P. Caesar

The time has come to put our dog Caesar down. He has been a part of our family for 16 years! It was so hard, but needed to be done. He couldn't see, hear, walk, control his bladder, you could see he was in pain, it was so sad. He is much happier now. We will miss you dearly Caesar Howard Rhodes.

Some people think I would be all over this "blog" thing being technologically savvy and all, but I am having a hard time keeping it up. It's probably because I am pretty boring and don't have a lot to blog about. I work and come home to watch tv, that's about it. Rough life I know. I think blogging is perfect for people that are married and/or have children to stay in touch with family and friends, but since I don't have that "special someone" or any children yet, I don't feel like I have a lot to update people on. I haven't even gone on any vacations lately to tell you all about. I will try to figure out more of what to write about since work has started to get a little easier allowing me to enjoy nights and weekends more.

So when I graduated I was so excited to work 8 hours a day then come home and have nothing to do nights and weekends, except play of course! Boy was I wrong!! I am working 10 hours a day PLUS weekends!! What happened to the life where I go to work, do my work, then come home to NO work?? One complaint about being on salary. I have been working on this one project for 2 months now and can't seem to solve it. I am the worst engineer ever!!!!! I enjoy what I do, I just don't have the experience yet to know what I'm doing. Hopefully I will get it one day....

Wow, what have I been up to? Not posting anything on my blog obviously! Well, after graduation I started working full time, went to 3 weddings (Sean's in California, Wendy's here in Utah, and Jana's in Las Vegas), went to the POISON concert, bought a new car and a few other "necessities" for the house. I'm enjoying spending money and coming home to watch tv and NO homework! Wow, this is the life!

I can't believe I am FINALLY done! I'm so excited! I finished my last finals today, so now it's time to sit back and relax until Monday when I start working full time. Graduation is officially in 2 days, but classes and finals are over, no more school work! This seemed so far away 6 years ago when I started college, well that is a long time that is now here. YEAH!!

It is so close to graduation I just can't stand it! My senior project presentation is over, now just have to write the final written report. It is such a great feeling to have this done, something that has been work in progress since September. Now I just have to focus on my three regular classes for another month and it will all be over!! YEAH!!!!

WOW! It has been so long since I last blogged....but nothing is really new! I declined the job offer in Indiana and accepted the one in Salt Lake that I'm working at now. I'm just trying to keep focused as much as possible, extremely difficult, until graduation. Less than two months away!!

It's already been 2 and 1/2 weeks of school! I can't believe it! 12 and 1/2 to go til graduation!! I went to Indiana for that 2nd interview and feel really good about it. They said they will let everyone know by the end of the month. They have been interviewing since Thanksgiving! That's a lot of people! I'll share some pics when I get a second to post them. I haven't gotten into a regular schedule yet this semester, and unfortunately that still won't happen for a week and a half.

New Job

I started my new job yesterday. There isn't a whole lot I can do yet, so it is a little boring, but once I get going I think I'll really like it! It was SOOO hard to say bye at my other job! 4 years is a long time to work at one job before you start your career.

2nd Job Interview

I'm going to Indiana Jan 8-9 for a 2nd job interview with the Navy. I first interviewed with them in Nashville. This is one of the two I was waiting to hear back from for a 2nd interview. I think the job sounds pretty cool and I've never been to Indiana, so it should be fun! The job would be a civilian position working on the electrical systems on the Navy sea crafts. Wish me luck!

It's FINALLY Christmas break!! No school for 3 weeks, well I guess it's down to 2 now. I've just been working all week trying to earn some money. I was SUPPOSE to get paid Monday, but for some reason, no paycheck!! Found out my service date got stuck in the system and didn't get extended, so I didn't get paid! Now I have to wait 3-5 business days! What a good time to have this happen! I'm not finished with my Christmas shopping and am already in the hole!

Also, I gave my 2 week notice to work. I'm starting my new job Jan 3 with InnoSys Technologies. I'm going to work part time my last semester of school, then full time after I graduate in May! I'm so excited!!

AHHHH Fall Break is over!! I can't even begin to express how overwhelmed I am!! I have so much to do in so little time! I have to start preparing for job interviews that start in 3 days, then again a week later, I have 2 tests the morning I leave to Nashville for 3.5 days on top of trying to find a new place to live by the end of the month!! How is all this possible with regular homework, school, and work?!

Car Accident

Car accidents suck! I got in a car accident Monday night with my roommates. We went to get dinner and on our way home, got hit by a car pulling out of a street making a left hand turn. BAM! No serious injuries, but I couldn't move my neck that night or the next day so I went to the Dr. and he said I tore some tissue in my neck and gave me some drugs! I'm still recovering, getting better each day, but it will take some time for all the sore muscles to recover, especially my neck.

The best feeling in the world is when you are done with your last final! I can't believe it is already August, where did the summer go? I'm so happy I'm done with summer school, but I didn't get to go play at all this summer which is a bummer :( I take that back, I did get to go to Waterton, but I still had to study while I was there which wasn't fun. Now I have 2 weeks off to enjoy.
